It's been a long time since Mr. Udi held an offline class, but in this meeting finally the class offline again. In this meeting we focus on critical speaking, where we discussed its definition and concept. Each student was asked to come forward and write a word related to critical speaking. From the discussion, we can concluded that critical speaking involves clear, analytical, and rational communication, and open-minded. During our third meeting, we were assigned an independent study project. Our task was to form groups consisting of five members and interview lecturers or students from the English Department Untirta about the use of AI in English teaching. The deadline for completing the task was one week. The goal was to explore their opinions on AI, its benefits and challenges, and how it supports the learning process.  This week, we started by designing questions for the interviews. The questions were meant to gather detailed information on the topic. Then, my group made questions to ask and decided to interview our classmates, two seniors, and a junior that we met in our way to our class (what a great coincidence). Then the interviews began with recorded, after that the we make the transcripts for our group report.

In the next meeting on, we gave impromptu speeches on the topic of "THE IMPACT OF MULTILINGUALISM ON PERSONAL IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT." There are more than 5 students (i think? I forgot) including me, shared their thoughts on what multilingualism is, its benefits, and their personal experiences. They explained that being multilingual means speaking more than one language, which helps us communicate easily with foreigners, open our perspective, and helps us make more friends while embracing different cultures. The purpose of the exercise was to help us overcome our fear and nervousness when speaking in public, at first i was so worried not being able to speak in front of my friend and especiallyin front of Mr. Udi, but i managed it by encouraging my self that if they can do it, so do i.  After the impromptu speeches, we had a group discussion. On August 26, 2024 , during the first meeting of our English speaking class, Mr. Udi introduced the course as a "zero class academic speaking" session. He shared his background and asked each of us to introduce ourselves, mentioning our names, where we’re from, and our expectations for the class. The class mainly focuses on speaking in English, where we are expected to think and speak in English before class. Mr. Udi explained that 70% of the class would be offline, and we would need to engage in critical thinking, analyzing topics, and sharing opinions.
